Strata Florida Greenlaning in Wales

The northern monkeys had organised a greenlaning event in wales which i had hoped to go in my Jimny, but its currently off the road waiting some new radius arms which have now arrived! So i went in my other 4x4 a Mitsubishi L200.

I met the rest of the gang at the campsite where many had stayed over, and there we were all split into 4 groups of 5

Once we split up into our groups we set off!

I was following Craig the clubs main man, until we got to our first lane

We were all following Denjo in his SWB Pajero

One good thing is the route is marked with arrows telling you where to go!

Then in the distance we see a stuck landrover

Craig goes to investigate!

We find out the group of landrovers are new to off roading and the 110 had took the wrong line and slid into the bank, so denjo tries to pull him out, but he's stuck solid

The water was quite slow flowing but a few years ago it was fast flowing and a landrover rolled into the river and i believe 2 children drowned, brings home the danger of off roading

We get moving again off to some more lanes

Then i see a seaking in the distance??

and once i get to the top of the lane an air ambulance

We stop and chat to the pilot, a mountain biker has gone over the handle bars and can't feel his legs  hope he's ok

I was asked to take his bike down the lane in my truck, but they decided to wait for some friends to help them

We watch the chopper take off and away we go!

Were all through ok

Then we get to a fast moving river crossing, my sat nav says go straight ahead!! but with no snorkel we don't but denjo does, and denjo is the only one with a snorkel so he goes through

After this crossing we call it a day as we've been driving for 6 hours, and iv'e got a 2.5 hour drive home!

Offroading in Bulgaria

One of my customers has sent some photos of a event he entered in Bulgaria in his Jimny

There are not many regulations about offroading in Bulgaria and its quite popular, when i was last in Bulgaria i must admit i did see lots of 4x4 and ive never seen so many lada Niva's!
