Latest - Uprated CV's did a trail fit today and the uprated halfshafts are currently been made, hopefully will have a batch ready by mid may!!

After killing around 3 CV's on my jimnys it’s about time i thought about up rating the front axle

After speaking to a local gearbox and transmission manufacturer we both came up with the following conclusions

• Making a stronger half shafts – this can be done but the problem would then pass onto the CV joint which would always fail
• Making a stronger CV joint – this can be done but after the experts at the manufactures examined the CV joint, they decided the weakest point within the joint is the cage, and once this fails the CV will destroy its self. They can make both uprated CV’s and uprated half shafts but after a chat, the cost of the uprated parts compared so the percentage gain in strength wouldn’t really be worth it
• Making a larger CV's and Half shafts – this is the way we will be going,  starting with a larger diameter half shafts with matching larger diameter CV joints, over the next couple of months we will be making and designing the components that will needed to fit these larger parts within the Jimny axle, this kit will allow you to run 33” tyres without worrying about them front CV’s
